Make a Difference and Make a Living
as a Shared Living Provider
The objective of Latham Centers’ Shared Living Program is to provide a safe, secure, and enriching home setting in which the individual with special needs is empowered to develop relationships within the home and the community. The Shared Living provider works on a contract basis with Latham Centers and is compensated monthly with a generous stipend for their services and the needs of the individual in their care.

Making A Difference: Shared Living
Our Shared Living Program services individuals throughout Cape Cod and Southeastern Massachusetts
Shared Living Provider Responsibilites
- Ensure resident's safety and self-preservation
- Management of financial resources.
- Coordination of health services (medical, dental, and mental health care)
- Assistance with weather-appropriate attire, personal hygiene, and other personal needs
- Training on the utilization of vocational, social, recreational, religious, and other community resources
- Mentoring and instilling appropriate personal and social conduct, along with interpersonal relationships
- Administration of any prescribed medications
- Assist individual in his/her attainment of personal goals per Individual Service Plan (ISP)
- Documentation of ISP goals, medication treatment, and communication log
- Attend annual ISP meeting and provide progress reports on individuals ISP goals
- Complete annual trainings including:
- Human Rights (Department of Developmental Services)
- Mandated Reporter (Disabled Persons protection Commission)
Certifications
- The Shared Living Provider must obtain and maintain CPR and FIrst Aid certification.
Latham Centers’ Shared Living Program creates opportunities for independence and happiness.
